Dogra Sadar Sabha pays homage to former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh

An urgent meeting of the Dogra Sadar Sabha J&K was convened today under the chairmanship of its President, Th. Gulchain Singh Charak, Former Minister of J&K. During the meeting, the Sabha paid rich tributes to the departed noble soul, Dr. Manmohan Singh, former Prime Minister of India, whose passing away has deeply saddened the nation and especially the Dogras of Jammu.
Lt. Dr. Singh was instrumental in giving impetus to the struggle of the Sabha in getting Dogri Language included in the 8th Schedule of the Indian Constitution and moreover he participated in the celebrations conducted by Dogra Sadar Sabha at Jammu after Dogri Language was included in the constitution of India.
In recognition of Dr. Singh’s exemplary contributions to the country and as a mark of respect to his enduring legacy, it was unanimously decided to postpone the 120th General Council Meeting of the Sabha, which was scheduled to be held tomorrow, 28th December 2024.
Now the meeting will be rescheduled at a later date, and the new date will be communicated to all members and stakeholders in due course.
The Sabha extended its deepest condolences to the family of Lt. Dr. Manmohan Singh Ji and to the people of India, as we mourn the loss of one of the nation’s most respected leaders. His vision, leadership, and dedication to the service of the nation will always remain an inspiration for all.
Prominent among those who paid their homage include Col. Karan Singh, G.A Khwaja, Brig. M.S Jamwal, Adv. Ghambhir Dev Singh, Amanat Ali Shah, Narinder Singh Jamwal, Dr. Nasib Singh Manhas, Ravi Singh Slathia, Vidya Sagar Sharma and Kapil Slathia.
