RAMBAN, Dec 6
The District Employment and Counselling Centre cum Model Career Centre Ramban, in collaboration with Government Polytechnic College, organized a Job Fair bringing together job seekers and employment providers. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from unemployed youth and prominent companies, particularly from the IT sector.
Reputed organizations such as Kochar Tech from Amritsar and its subsidiaries – Kochiva, Maxicus, and Kochar Infotech – along with local employers, conducted placement drives for various job openings. Over 150 aspiring candidates participated in the event, out of which 8 were shortlisted for employment. The Job Fair commenced with an inaugural address by the College Principal Er. Vivek Mahajan. He emphasised the importance of leveraging such platforms to secure employment. He expressed gratitude to Assistant Director Employment Amit Kumar and the HRs of participating companies for their collaborative efforts in making the event a success.
Resources Person Lovepreet Singh highlighted the initiatives of the National Career Services (NCS) portal and encouraged the youth to utilize its resources for career development and employment opportunities.
The event was attended by Arun Kumar, Waseem Akram and Akashdeep Singh from DECC/MCC, along with Abid Hussain, Training and Placement Officer of GPC Ramban, faculty members, and students.
