Senior Congress leader and DDC Suchetgarh member, Taranjit Singh Tony, who also serves as the Chairman of the Gurudwara Sabha, Rani Talab, has urged the global Sikh community and followers of Guru Nanak Dev Ji to embrace and propagate the Guru Nanak’s timeless teachings of love, peace, and universal brotherhood.
Speaking at a grand celebration of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s birth anniversary at Gurudwara Sabha Rani Talab in Jammu, Tony highlighted the profound relevance of these values in today’s increasingly divided world.
Reflecting on the life of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism and the first Sikh Guru, Tony underscored the enduring importance of his message of harmony, tolerance, and unity. “In a world fraught with polarization, the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji serve as a beacon of hope, urging us to rise above divisions and embrace the ideals of equality and oneness,” he said.
Expressing concern over the divisive forces allegedly working to erode India’s social fabric, Tony called for collective efforts to counter hatred and foster unity. “Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s vision of a just and inclusive society transcends time and borders. It is imperative that we recommit ourselves to his principles of compassion, selfless service, and devotion to humanity,” he added.
Tony appealed to the Guru Nanak Naam Sewa Sangat worldwide to intensify efforts in spreading the Guru’s message of universal brotherhood.
He emphasized the need for action to counter the atmosphere of hatred and division being perpetuated by certain elements in society.
Extending warm wishes on the auspicious occasion, Tony encouraged people from all communities to embody Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s teachings in their daily lives. “Let us join hands to create a more compassionate and harmonious world, guided by the eternal wisdom of Guru Nanak Dev Ji,” he added.
