District Program Officer (DPO) POSHAN Doda, S. Paramjeet Singh, chaired an Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) awareness camp in POSHAN Project Thathri, followed by another in POSHAN Project Gundoh.
These events were organized to raise awareness and expand the reach of POSHAN schemes and services among the local population, ensuring that essential welfare benefits are accessible to all eligible beneficiaries.
The camps saw active participation from local stakeholders, including Child Development Project Officers (CDPOs) Pankaj Sharma of Thathri and Ishtiaq Ahmed of Gundoh, as well as supervisors, ex-PRI members, senior citizens, women, Anganwadi workers, and other community members. Addressing the attendees, DPO Paramjeet Singh provided a comprehensive overview of the POSHAN schemes implemented by the department.

A primary focus of the awareness drive was the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY), a scheme offering financial assistance to pregnant and lactating women to support their health and well-being.
Through detailed discussions, attendees were informed about the benefits and eligibility criteria for PMMVY and other POSHAN services, under scoring the importance of maternal and child health as part of the government’s welfare agenda.
Organizing such IEC camps highlights the department’s commitment to fostering social and economic well-being in the region. By enhancing public understanding of POSHAN schemes, the department aims to ensure that every eligible individual can access these resources, ultimately contributing to improved health, nutrition, and quality of life in the communities of Doda.
