DOGRA HERALD BUREAU
SHOPIAN, Nov 9
A meeting to finalize the provisional selection list for the engagement of Krishi Udyamis was today held here under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner (DDC) Shopian, Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar.
The meeting finalized the provisional list under Project No. 20 ‘Innovative Extension Approach for Promoting Agriculture of the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP).’
Through the establishment of Kisan Khidmat Ghars (KKGs) at 33 places throughout the district, this initiative seeks to empower local agricultural communities and foster agricultural entrepreneurship.
Eligible candidates submitted 257 applications in total for 33 locations, demonstrating the strong desire of educated young people and agricultural businesses to support sustainable agricultural growth. The temporary list of merits has been finalized by the committee constituted for the purpose and finalized for publication, with candidates encouraged to review the selection and submit any objections within the stipulated period of 7 days.
The Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, and Employment Officer of Shopian were among the members of the selection committee who reviewed the selection criteria and process during a meeting called by the District Development Commissioner in his office chamber.
Based on eligibility, the potential impact of the initiatives, and consistency with HADP’s objectives of fostering agricultural innovation, the committee carefully evaluated the applications.
A short period of seven (07) days for candidate objections will be followed by the publication of the final selection list.
The district’s agricultural development organizations will then provide additional direction and assistance to the chosen Krishi Udyamis in order to encourage the establishment and expansion of KKGs in each area. These facilities will be vital for promoting knowledge sharing, strengthening local communities, and advancing sustainable farming methods. The project will make a substantial contribution to the region’s economic development and agricultural sustainability, and it is consistent with the district’s mission to improve rural livelihoods through creative agricultural practices. Candidates are advised to visit the District Shopian’s official website at https://shopian.nic.in/ or get in touch with the Chief Agriculture Officer’s office in Shopian for additional information or to examine the preliminary selection list.
