The NSS (National Service Scheme) unit of Dogra Degree College proudly organized a Slogan Writing Competition to commemorate International Girl Child Day on the theme “ Girls’ Vision for the Future”. The event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of educating and empowering girls.
Under the enthusiastic guidance of NSS Program Officer, Simran Thakur and the esteemed leadership of Principal Dr. Bela Thakur, the competition witnessed remarkable participation from students across various disciplines.
The event served not only as a platform for creative expression but also as a means to encourage dialogue on critical issues affecting girls globally.
A total no. of 12 students from B.A, B.B.A & B.Com Department participated in the event. The panel of judges comprised esteemed faculty members: Mr. Ravinder Kumar, Assistant Professor of English; Ms. Aditi Khajuria, Senior Lecturer in English; and Ms. Pranika Gupta, Lecturer in English.
The winners of the competition were recognized for their creativity and thought-provoking messages. Prizes were awarded as 1st Prize: Janvi Sharma, BBA 3rd Semester; 2nd Prize: Falak Naz, B.A 1st Semester and 3rd Prize: Aditya Dhir, B.B.A 5th Semester.
In addition, all participants received e-certificates for their contributions, encouraging them to continue advocating for gender equality and empowerment.
The NSS unit is committed to fostering a culture of respect and equality, and events like these play a vital role in shaping the community’s perspective on girl child rights.
