Patiala Heart Institute & Multispeciality Hospital highlights importance of ‘Heart Team Approach’

Patiala Heart Institute & Multispeciality Hospital, a leading hospital for cardiovascular care in Punjab on Friday emphasized the importance of ‘Heart Team Approach’ in treating heart diseases. It also stressed upon the need to raise awareness about heart disease.
While speaking at a press conference, Dr. G.S. Sidhu, Managing Director and Chief Cardiologist at Patiala Heart Institute & Multispeciality Hospital underlined the significance of World Heart Day which is observed globally to increase awareness about cardiovascular disease. This year’s theme focuses on promoting preventive measures and highlighting the critical role of timely intervention in case of heart emergencies, he said.

Dr. Sidhu also elaborated on the concept of “door-to-balloon time,” which refers to the interval between a patient’s arrival at the hospital and the initiation of treatment, specifically angioplasty.
