Major General RK Sachdeva, Additional Director General (ADG) of the JK&L Directorate of the National Cadet Corps (NCC), visited the Pre-TSC-III Camp at the NCC Training Academy in Nagrota. During his visit, he interacted with 490 cadets undergoing rigorous training, providing them with invaluable insights into leadership, discipline, and resilience.
The visit was highlighted by Major General Sachdeva’s engagement with the cadets, observing their training, and delivering an inspirational address that resonated deeply with the young leaders of tomorrow. In his speech, he underscored several key principles that are crucial for personal and professional growth.
He began by emphasizing that small, consistent improvements can have a significant long-term impact. He also stressed the importance of teamwork, noting that success in any endeavor is often the result of collaborative efforts.
The General Officer praised the dedication and passion with which the camp was planned and conducted, acknowledging the system and best practices in place for running such a comprehensive training program.
One of the core messages Major General Sachdeva conveyed was the importance of overcoming fear and facing challenges head-on.
He encouraged the cadets to view challenges as opportunities, highlighting that the true test of character is often revealed in tough moments. Achieving excellence in small tasks, he noted, is fundamental to building confidence and capacity.
The General Officer also inspected the newly installed simulator for Naval cadets, demonstrating his commitment to ensuring the highest standards of training and preparation.
As he concluded his address, Major General Sachdeva left the cadets with three critical “buzz words”: Head, Health, and Hygiene-essential components for living a life of success and significance. His visit served as a powerful reminder of the importance of mentorship, leadership, and motivation in shaping the future leaders of the armed forces.
