Srinagar, Aug 6
A meeting of the Central Working Committee of Dogra Sadar Sabha J&K was held today at Dogra Sadar Sabha Bhawan, Jammu, under the chairmanship of Thakur Gulchain Singh Charak, former minister and president of the Sabha, in which various important issues were discussed.
A major decision was to hold the 120th meeting of the General Council of the Sabha, also known as the Message of Humanity Conference, in September 2024. This event will feature participation from General Council Members and various religious scholars representing different faiths.
An intellectual cell is to be established within the Sabha to focus on the history, culture, and heritage of the Dogras. Additionally, members of the ex-servicemen cell have been tasked with addressing issues related to “Balidan Stambh” with army and civil authorities to ensure proper visitor arrangements and to initiate a light and sound program at the site.

The Sabha will advocate for the Smart City Project’s implementation, the restoration and conservation efforts at the Mubarak Mandi Heritage Complex, and the preservation of slopes behind the palaces of this historic site. The Sabha also plans to urge the government to retain the precious archive records within the Mubarak Mandi Complex.
Responding to members’ demands, the Sabha will appeal to all political parties to support the restoration of statehood with the Government of India.

He mentioned that the core group of the Sabha, after visiting various places like Mubarak Mandi, Archives Repository, Bahu Fort, Jambu Lochan Memorial, and other sites under the Smart City Project, has discussed these issues in detail with the concerned authorities and asked them to form a committee of experts to assess the exact status of these projects.
