In connection with ‘Swachhata Pakhwara 2024’ from June 16th to June 30th 2024 & for encouraging Jan Bhagidari, & to promote innovative ideas about Swachhta & Conducting cleanliness drives in public places such as parks, beaches, rivers, ponds, schools & hospitals, etc. National Sample Survey Office (NSSO), Regional Office Jammu under Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation Government of India organized awareness programs in shape of a Rally on June 21, 2024 under Supervision of Shri R. K. Sharma, Assistant Director & Smt. Lata Raina, Administrative Officer to educate people about the benefits of hygiene and sanitation & encouraged people to adopt eco-friendly lifestyle practices such as avoiding the use of plastic bags and disposing of waste responsibly. Apart from this, NSSO staff also distributed Pamphlets to the public educating them about the current surveys undertaken by NSSO (FOD) and requested people to cooperate with the Field staff of NSSO (FOD) whenever they will approach them for any sort of data related to their Surveys.
Officers of Regional Office Jammu stressed upon the general public while distributing pamphlets to spread awareness among other people in their contact. Staff also educated people for Promoting the use of toilets and maintaining them properly so that they remain clean and hygienic. In the rally apart from AD & AO, around 60-70 Officers/Officials from NSSO (FOD) were also present. The rally started from Office premises of NSSO (FOD) 23-B/B Gandhi Nagar and was taken in the roads/Lanes & other peripheries of Gandhi Nagar up-to Green Belt Park Gandhi Nagar.
Assistant Director & Administrative Officer appraised the people about the objective of this cleanliness rally and stressed on the need for continuous awareness campaign to maintain the cleanliness of the environment. In connection to ‘Swachhta Pakhwara 2024′ NSSO (FOD) Regional Office Jammu also organized a “Shramdhanan’ event on June 18, 2024 in which Indoor and Outdoor cleanliness programme was taken up by the Officers & Officials of Regional Office Jammu. Apart from event on June 21, 2024 & event on June 18, 2024, RO Jammu & Sub-Regional Office Udhampur are lined up for events of “Sharmdhaan” on June 26, 2024 & distribution of Pamphlets among common masses on June 28, 2024.
