The Indian Army organized a lecture on employment opportunities for the residents of Thanamandi, focusing on spreading awareness and enhancing skills for self-employment and better job opportunities in this remote region. The event aimed to interact with and educate the young generation, women, and the wider community about various educational and scholarship schemes offered by both Central and State Governments to address unemployment.
During the lecture, an officer from the Indian Army provided insights into government initiatives and actions aimed at reducing unemployment levels. The lecture also covered specific schemes like the Integrated Rural Development Programme (IRDP), which aims to improve the economic and social life of the rural poor; the Drought Prone Area Programme (DPAP), designed to mitigate the adverse effects of drought and promote sustainable development; the Nehru Rozgar Yojana (NRY), which focuses on generating employment for urban youth; and the Prime Minister’s Integrated Urban Poverty Eradication Programme (PMIUPEP), which aims to alleviate urban poverty through employment and skill development.
The Indian Army emphasized the importance of these programs in creating a self-reliant and economically stable community.
