In a commendable endeavor to empower the youth of Ramban district with essential computer skills, the Indian Army successfully concluded a two-week-long Skill Development Course on IT Literacy at Gool. The course, which commenced on April 1, 2024, and concluded on April 15, 2024, witnessed the participation of 30 students, including girls, who benefitted from the comprehensive training program.
The initiative to impart IT literacy training was driven by a noble intent to equip local students with the requisite knowledge and skills in computer technology. Over the course of 15 days, the participants were introduced to the fundamentals of computer education, laying a strong foundation for their future endeavors in the digital realm. The enthusiastic response from the students underscored the significance of such initiatives in bridging the digital divide and fostering inclusive growth.
This IT Literacy programme aligns seamlessly with the Central Government’s flagship project, Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan, aimed at modernizing education and promoting transparent governance. An Army official, speaking at the event, emphasized the broader objectives of the initiative, highlighting its role in creating awareness about government initiatives and fostering a culture of digital literacy among the youth.
To facilitate effective learning, the Indian Army provided laptops for the duration of the IT Cadre, ensuring that students had access to essential IT resources. The curriculum of the training programme was meticulously crafted, blending theoretical concepts with practical applications to enhance the participants’ proficiency in handling IT assets. The emphasis on practical learning aimed to maximize the students’ ability to leverage their newfound skills in real-world scenarios. During the closing address, students were apprised of various courses and schemes offered by both the State and Central Governments, leveraging their recently acquired skill set for future endeavors. This holistic approach not only equips students with technical proficiency but also empowers them with knowledge of opportunities for further growth and development.
