Dogra Group of Colleges Hosts Interactive session with Former Lt. Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Puducherry on Career Opportunities in the 21st Century.
16th April, 2024, Bari-Brahmana, Samba: Dogra Group of Colleges hosted an engaging and informative session on the evolving landscape of career opportunities in the 21st century. The event featured esteemed guest speaker, Lt Gen Bhopinder Singh, PVSM (Retd), Former Governor of Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Puducherry, with his vast experience in leadership roles, shed light on the importance of adaptability, resilience, and continuous learning in today’s dynamic job market and the skills needed for success in modern careers. “The 21st century presents a plethora of opportunities across various sectors, and it is essential for students to be equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to thrive in this fast-paced world,” remarked Lt. Gen. Sh. Bhopinder Singh during the session. Using his unique storytelling capabilities, he informed the students about the importance of their prime years in building their professional careers.
Th. Gulchain Singh Charak, Former Minister of Higher Education, Govt. of J&K and Chairman of Dogra Educational Trust in his address, emphasized the commitment of Dogra Educational Trust towards shaping the future of students by providing them with holistic education and grooming them to become competent professionals capable of contributing meaningful to society. Mr. Charak echoed similar sentiments, stating, “At Dogra Group of Colleges, we are dedicated to nurturing talent and empowering students to realize their full potential. He outscored that his focus is not only on academic excellence but also on fostering critical thinking, innovation, and ethical leadership.”
Dr. Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary Dogra Educational Trust, Dr. Bela Thakur, Principal Dogra Degree College, Dr. Gitika Sehgal, Coordinator Dogra Educational Trust, Dr. Shefali Sharma, Management Representative, Dogra Educational Trust, Mr. Ramnik Bali, Programme Facilitator Dogra Law College and Ms. Shuchi Sharma, Academic Coordinator, Dogra Law College were also present on the occasion. The event was attended by students of BA.LLB 5 Years Course, LL. B 3 Years Course of Dogra Law College and Students of B. ED Course of Dogra College of Education. Students of BA, B.COM and BBA Course of Dogra Degree College, Academicians and Management outpoured their love and adoration for the worthy guest. Ms. Arushi Khajuria, Sr. Lecturer Dogra Law College introduced the event and set the tone for an enriching discussion. The event proceeded further with the welcome address presented by Dr. Gitika Sehgal, Coordinator, Dogra Educational Trust followed by the lighting of the lamp by all the dignitaries and evoking the blessings of Almighty. The event also witnessed the presentation of saplings and memento to esteemed dignitaries, recognizing their invaluable contributions in the field of education.
This interactive session was aimed to aware the students with the various fields in which they can opt their career after completing their graduation. The resource person emphasized on different courses offered by Dogra Group of Colleges. These professional courses offer great career opportunities to the students. The interactive session provided a platform for students and attendees to engage directly with the distinguished speakers. The question and answer segment facilitated insightful discussions on various aspects of career development, including emerging industries, skill sets in demand, and strategies for personal and professional growth. The interactive session was concluded with a vote of thanks presented by Dr. Shefali Sharma, Management Representative, Dogra Educational Trust and ended with the National Anthem.
