Dogra Group of Colleges organized the Scholarship Function to honour the academic achievements of its meritorious students on 12.04.2024.
The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Professor Umesh Rai, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu, as the Chief Guest and Prof. Rajeev Rattan Sharma, Director, Colleges Development Council, University of Jammu as the guest of honour.
The ceremony was presided over by Sh. Gulchain Singh Charak, Former Minister and Chairman, Dogra Educational Trust, who is not only a prominent figure in the field of education but also a distinguished philanthropist. Many other prominent personalities were also invited to grace the occasion.
Dr. Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary Dogra Educational Trust, Dr. Bela Thakur, Principal Dogra Degree College, Dr. Vikesh Kumar Sharma, Principal Dogra College of Education, Dr. Geetika Sehgal, Coordinator Dogra Educational Trust, Dr. Shefali Sharma, Management Representative, Dogra Educational Trust, Mr. Ramnik Bali, Programme Facilitator Dogra Law College, Ms. Shuchi Sharma, Academic Coordinator, Dogra Law College were also present on the occasion.
Additionally, the event was attended by students, academicians and professionals of Dogra Group of Colleges i.e. Dogra Degree College, Dogra Law College and Dogra College of Education. Students pursuing legal studies, teaching course and management course outpoured their love and adoration for the worthy guest.
The event commenced with the welcome address presented by Dr. Gitika Sehgal, Coordinator, Dogra Educational Trust followed by the lighting of the lamp by all the dignitaries and evoking the blessings of Almighty. The event also witnessed the presentation of saplings and memento to esteemed dignitaries, recognizing their invaluable contributions in the field of education.
Students of Dogra Group of Colleges captivated the audience with a vibrant display of regional folk dance as a special cultural event. The performance, which showcased the rich cultural heritage of the region, was met with enthusiastic applause from attendees.
Dr. Bela Thakur, Principal Dogra Degree College presented a brief PowerPoint Presentation that highlighted the accomplishments and distinctions of the Dogra Group of Colleges.
The meritorious students of Dogra Group of Colleges were awarded with scholarships of around 4 lakhs. This felicitation ceremony serves as a platform to recognize and celebrate the exceptional academic accomplishments of the students of Dogra Group of College. It is a testament to their dedication, hard work, and perseverance throughout their academic journey at Dogra Group of Colleges.
The Chief Guest, Prof. Umesh Rai, Vice- Chancellor, University of Jammu, with his profound knowledge and experience in the field of education, brought invaluable insights and inspiration to the event. His presence undoubtedly motivated the students to strive for excellence in their academic pursuits and beyond.He commended the Dogra Educational Trust for their scholarship program and expressed gratitude for their efforts in creating an environment that consistently inspires students and supports them in meeting their academic goals.
The Guest of Honour, Prof. Rajeev Rattan Sharma, Director, Colleges Development Council, applauded and congratulated all the meritorious students for their achievements in their respective field of education. He praised the vision and mission demonstrated by Dogra Group of Colleges in setting up their educational institutions.
In the presidential remarks, Gulchain Singh Charak, Former Minister of Higher Education, Govt. of J&K and Chairman Dogra Educational Trust, appreciated the student’s accomplishments and encouraged them to strive for continuous and consistent hard work to meet the present Challenges and furthermore, establish themselves as a responsible citizen and serve the society. He additionally mentioned that Dogra Educational Trust is dedicated to nurture the students in achieving their goals.
The felicitation function was concluded with a vote of thanks presented by Dr. Shefali Sharma, Management Representative, Dogra Educational Trust. The function was a momentous occasion for the guests and the entire family of Dogra Group of Colleges as it brought together all to celebrate the academic achievements of the students and reaffirm the commitment of the Trust in nurturing talent and excellence. The program culminated with the National Anthem.
