Amit Kapoor, President of Parents Association Jammu, raised questions on the functioning of JKFFRC and protested strongly today demanding the immediate removal of its Chairman. He said that an efficient Chairman should be appointed to bring its functioning on track.
Along with this, he said that school mafia is being run under the guise of white collar, which is looting parents by charging high fees, uniforms and arbitrary prices of books. He said that books and uniforms are changed in schools every year for looting, whereas under the new education policy, only NCERT or JKBose books can be used in schools.
Continuing his series of protests against the private school mafia, Amit Kapoor held a strong protest in Jammu today as well.
Addressing the protesters, Amit Kapoor said that the private school mafia is looting parents by changing books and uniforms every year and at the same time, the schools whose fees have been approved by JKFFRC are also charging more fees than that.
He said that as far as JKFFRC is concerned, it only forms a complaint cell and when a parent complains, its chairman asks the parent to withdraw his complaint or settles the matter by reducing his fees a little, but more fees are being charged from the rest of the parents.
He said that the investigation committees formed by the department are also just nominal and they too are just watching the spectacle of parents being looted by doing the formality.
He said that the Director of School Education Department has issued a circular and warned the schools violating the rules, but as far as the CEO of Jammu division is concerned, he has completely failed to implement this circular at the ground level, due to which the parents are quite disappointed. He said that when the CEO of Poonch took action in this matter, he was transferred.
He said that all this problem can be solved only when the Chairman of JKFFRC is transferred and a new Chairman is appointed in his place.
He has also urged the Divisional Commissioners of Jammu and Kashmir to take the complaints of parents seriously and take concrete steps towards taking strict action against the schools violating the rules.
Amit Kapoor has warned that if no action is taken against the school mafia, then he will continue the movement started against it and the series of protests started by him will also continue. Along with this, he also reiterated the demand for giving two years relaxation in age to the children of first class. He said that the children who are currently enrolled should be given two years relaxation in age so that there is no impact on their future.
