Expressing displeasure over the negligence of remote areas of Reasi and Ramban Districts, the Apni Party’s Vice President, and Former Minister, Aijaz Ahmed Khan has expressed his commitment that Gool-Gulabgarh should be granted District status for its overall development of the rural belt. As per the press release, a worker’s meeting of the Apni Party was organized at Gool under the leadership of Aijaz Ahmed Khan.
In this meeting, the Party leaders and workers held threadbare discussion regarding the scheduled parliamentary elections in Jammu and Kashmir, particularly concerning the Udhampur constituency. The leaders discussed that the voting shall be based on issues so that developmental and employment issues can be redressed. While speaking on the occasion, the Former Minister said that the voting on Udhampur parliamentary constituency shall be based on issues because majority of the constituency is rural and hilly areas. He however expressed displeasure over the ignorance and injustice with the Gool – Gulabgarh which remained sidelined regarding the demand of granting district status.
He said that the Party is committed to include the demand of district status to the Gool – Gulabgarh in its manifesto and it would come out with a plan about the employment policy to address the issues of the educated unemployed youth.
He also referred to the Gool – Sambar’s aspiration and sought that it shall be declared as a full-fledged political constituency to address the developmental issues of the people by providing them opportunity to elect their representative and adequate Govt funds.
While expressing dismay over the growing unemployment in Ramban District, he said that it was unfortunate to learn that large numbers of workers including skilled and unskilled have become unemployed following their disengagement with the railways. The disengagement has been reported in Khari, Sangaldan, Banihal, Sumber and other areas where the railways have disengaged its workers without providing them alternative place of working.
“The J&K Govt must look into the issue and ensure that the disengaged workers can be readjusted/reengaged in the railways in their other ongoing projects in Jammu and Kashmir,” he added.
He said that unemployment among the educated people especially in Ramban has become a major issue for which the Govt should have a plan.
He however assured the people that the Apni Party will frame a policy for the unemployed youth in J&K so that they can be provided employment or opportunities of self-employment to make them self-reliant.
