The Sub Division Administration in Uri orchestrated a dynamic Voters Awareness program at Kaman Post Uri, as part of the ongoing Systematic Voter Education Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiative.
The event, aimed at fostering electoral literacy and encouraging robust participation in the democratic process, witnessed a commendable turnout and active engagement from various stakeholders.
Program was presided over by the Sub Divisional Magistrate Uri, Javid Ahmad Rather.
The program saw the enthusiastic participation of Additional Nodal Officer SVEEP, Vice Principal GDC Uri, SDPO Uri, AEROs, Principals, Zonal Education Officers, BDO Uri, Supervisors, BLOs, school principals and teachers, local residents, and students from diverse educational backgrounds.
The event featured a diverse array of interactive activities, including skits, cultural performances, debates, speeches, painting competitions, and slogan writing contests. These engaging sessions captivated the audience, fostering a spirit of civic responsibility and democratic participation.
During his address, SDM Uri underscored the pivotal role of electoral literacy in shaping informed citizenry and emphasized the significance of active participation in the electoral process, particularly with the Lok Sabha 2024 elections on the horizon.
He urged all eligible voters, especially first-time voters, to exercise their franchise responsibly and contribute to the democratic fabric of the nation.
The involvement of Booth Level Officers (BLOs) was instrumental in disseminating crucial information about the electoral process and empowering attendees with knowledge about their voting rights and responsibilities.
In recognition of the participants’ dedication and enthusiasm, participation certificates were distributed by SDM Uri, in presence of Additional Nodal Officer SVEEP.
