Expressing concern over slow pace of development, Apni Party Provincial President, Jammu, and Former Minister, S. Manjit Singh has sought developmental overhaul in Samba District.
As per a press release, a meeting was held at Vijaypur under the leadership of Former Minister, S. Manjit Singh in which Party leaders, and prominent people participated.
During the meeting, the Party leaders held threadbare discussion regarding the unpopular Govt in Jammu and Kashmir being run by the bureaucracy with connection with the public concerns.
“The public issues have largely remained unresolved that need urgent attention of the authorities regarding the growing concerns of underdevelopment, unemployment, and impartial distribution of funds in various areas that has discriminated against the people of different regions,” he said, while expressing commitment of the Party to ensure equitable development and unity.
He said that the authorities have failed to do justice with the people and the grievances of the masses have remained unresolved giving rise to the feeling of alienation without an elected Govt.
To address the growing complexity of issues, he said the Election Commission of India should hold the legislative assembly as well as Parliamentary elections together in J&K.
He said that the elected Govt is responsible to the people whereas the bureaucracy has no accountability towards the people that has created problems in the last several years in Jammu and Kashmir.
