Apni Party Provincial President, Jammu, and Former Minister S. Manjit Singh today demanded holding of legislative assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir jointly with the upcoming Parliamentary elections.
“The assembly elections have been delayed for the last several years and the people have been deprived of elected Govt in J&K,” said Manjit Singh, while speaking at the North Office of the Apni Party at Chinore in Jammu District.
The program to celebrate the foundation of the Party was organized by the Provincial Vice President, Adv Nirmal Kotwal.
At the office premises, accompanied by other leaders of the Party, the Provincial President, Jammu hoisted the flag of the Party to mark fourth celebrations.
Speaking on the occasion, he appreciated the Party leaders and its cadre for expanding the roots of the Party in Jammu plains.
He said that the Party’s policy of equitable development has attracted the people from different segments of society who have posed their faith in the leadership of Syed Mohammed Altaf Bukhari sahab, President of the Party. He said that the Party is committed to protect the rights of the people in Jammu and Kashmir regarding employment, and land.
He said that if the Party forms the Govt, the public welfare schemes will be launched in Jammu and Kashmir for the upliftment of the living standard of the people.
“We are committed to promote unity of two regions, and bring the people of different cultures togethers,” he said, recalling the Party’s commitment to restore the Darbar move practice if the Party comes to power.
He, however, expressed concern over the delay in holding the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir that has snatched the rights of the people to elect the Govt of their choice.
“The bureaucratic form of Govt is doing injustice to the people regarding slow pace of development, influence of non-locals in mining, and liquor mafia in Jammu region,” he added and accused the bureaucratic regime for creating hurdles for assembly elections in J&K.
He further demanded that the elections must be held in Jammu and Kashmir with a motive to provide an elected Govt to the people.
Meanwhile, Provincial Vice President, Jammu, Adv Nirmal Kotwal also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the existing political scenario that has affected the normal life, employment, and development in Jammu and Kashmir.
