The Institute of Indian Architects (IIA) Jammu and Kashmir Chapter led by chairman Ar Vikas Dubey, vice chairman Ar Vishal Abrol, jt Hon. secretaries Ar Harbinder pal singh and Ar Anil verma and Treasurer Ar Sanjiv Mahajan, commemorated the chapters 3rd foundation day with a series of enriching events that brought together eminent architects of the UT along with celebrating the invaluable contributions of women to the architecture profession.
The festivities commenced on 8th March with a heartfelt initiative aimed at making a positive impact in the society. The IIA JK Chapter organized an Interaction with Inmates of a shelter home dedicated to supporting women individuals facing distressing circumstances in their lives. Members of the institute spent quality time engaging with the inmates, fostering compassion, and extending much-needed support.
The celebrations continued with a thought-provoking Panel Discussion & Presentations on Women in the profession of Architecture on the 9th of March. The event showcased insightful discussions and enlightening presentations that underscored the invaluable role women play in shaping the architectural landscape of our city.
The occasion was not only an opportunity to recognize their achievements but also a platform for dialogue and collaboration. The event concluded with a delightful dinner at Hotel Zone by Park, near the Railway station in Jammu, where attendees continued to celebrate the Architectural community’s accomplishments.
March 10th marked a refreshing start to the day with a Yoga session led by Ms. Pooja, a seasoned Yoga instructor. The session, held at Main Park, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu, provided participants with a serene and rejuvenating experience, promoting physical and mental well-being.
Haryana Marble, the premier Business House offering a wide range of marble, tiles, and innovative sanitary fittings was the main sponsor of the event. Their gracious support played a pivotal role in making these celebratory events possible, and the institute expressed its sincere gratitude for their unwavering commitment to the architectural community.
By combining recognition of women in architecture, community engagement, and the promotion of holistic well-being, the foundation day celebrations reflected the institute’s commitment to fostering a vibrant and inclusive architectural community in the UT. The whole executive body of IIA J&K Chapter expressed its gratitude to the architects, members, and supporters who contributed to the success of these celebratory events.
