rajouri, Mar 6
Asserting that the remote villages have been facing injustice from the administration regarding development in Rajouri and Poonch Districts, the Apni Party Vice President, and Former Cabinet Minister, Choudhary Zulfkar Ali has appealed to the people of Pir Panjal to get united to fight for their rights.
He said that the gap between the administration and the civilian population has widened in the absence of basic amenities in rural areas.
He also pointed out poor ratio students – teachers in Govt schools that has impacted the education system. Whereas, the Govt schools and rural health sector has been affected badly, he added.
While addressing a largely attended worker’s meeting at Udhan in Khawas area of Budhal Constituency in Rajouri District, the Former Minister stressed on the Govt to mitigate the problems, and suffering of the people living in the remote areas of Pir Panjal as well as other regions of Jammu and Kashmir.
He said that the basic amenities are not available to these remote areas.
“The people are living in a very miserable condition in the absence of basic amenities viz poor road connectivity, poor educational sector, health care etc facilities are not available to remote areas. Therefore, the Govt must focus on the development of these areas,” he said.
He further said that: “Due to the lack of elected Govt, there is a huge gap between the Govt machinery, and the people whereas the administration is not reaching out to the far-flung areas.”
He stated that the areas like Gaibas, Kochalwas, Narla, Nangathub and others have high potential of tourism, and these areas need to be brought on the tourism map.
He stated that the Prime Minister’s slogan of Beti Bachao – Beti Padao is not being implemented in these areas because there are no degree colleges within 50 kms. In these circumstances, the education of girls is affected and the administration should immediately take steps to provide education at the doorstep in their respective areas especially to the Girls.
“On the other hand, the pregnant women die while giving birth because of labour pain in the absence of proper or no basic medical care,” he said, while asking the Govt to deploy needed paramedical, and specialized doctors to the PHCs and other hospitals to overcome the shortage of staff.
As the authorities have failed to keep the pace of development as well as provide basic amenities to the people at the village level, he asked the people to get united to fight for their basic amenities, and development of the areas. He also stressed upon the Govt to open a degree college at Khawas, and Gaibas, besides, a crime police post at Gaibas and a PHC at Udhan, and repair work of the road that connects Mathani to Udhan.
He also demanded opening of the JK Bank branch at Udhan, and establishment of PHC at Udhan.
He asked the administration to provide adequate staff in the Govt schools located in the rural/remote areas because the teacher – students ratio is not maintained in these areas.
Meanwhile, the workers celebrated the fourth foundation day at Budhal constituency. In this function, they took a pledge that the Apni Party will strive for the implementation of the equitable development agenda and basic declaration of the Party, viz the restoration of statehood, protection of land, jobs rights of the people, and restoration of dignity of the people.
