JAMMU, Mar 1
Describing Narendra Modi Ji’s era as a golden period for Gujjars & Bakerwals, BJP J&K General Secretary & Former Member Legislative Council, Advocate Vibodh Gupta said that justice was finally delivered to Gujjars & Bakerwals of J&K after over six decades of Independence.
Addressing a workers’ meeting of BJP’s ST Morcha at Trikuta Nagar, Jammu, Advocate Vibodh Gupta said that all political parties fooled Gujjars & Bakerwals for 67 years and blackmailed them for votes. But after taking over as Prime Minister in 2014, Shri Narendra Modi made the welfare of Gujjars & Bakerwals a priority and worked on the ground to change the fate of deprived classes.
“Modi’s Government gave political reservation to Gujjars & Bakerwals, provided them forest rights, opened Eklavya Model Residential Schools for their educational upliftment, started the celebration of International Gurjar, and also organized Gurjar Mahautsav in India. Modi’s Government nominated Gujjar leader Er Ghulam Ali Khatana for Rajya Sabha, which has strengthened them politically, and their voice is being raised in the parliament. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Janjatiya Gaurav Divas on 15th November to show respect to legendary tribal freedom fighter, Bhagwan Birsa Munda,” said Vibodh.
Terming previous governments as anti-Gujjar and Bakerwal, Vibodh said that Gujjars and Bakerwals of Jammu & Kashmir are a pride of India and they have helped the Indian Army in guarding borders.
“We salute the Gujjar Tribe for helping the Indian Army in Operation Sarvanash in the Hill Kaka area of Poonch to eliminate terrorists,” he said, adding that the contribution of Gujjars & Bakerwals for the nation was never acknowledged by any government.
He strongly asserted that “Modiji gave them respect and dignity, while the Gujjar-Bakerwal Tribe has always loved Modiji and has resolved to support the Modi government on the Anantnag-Rajouri Parliamentary seat”. Encouraging Gujjar & Bakerwal leaders and workers to educate the people about how they were misled by previous Congress, NC, and PDP governments, and how the policies and schemes of the Modi government have transformed their lives, Vibodh urged them to reject attempts by self-centered leaders to sow division along caste lines.
Lashing out at some leaders who are hell-bent on dividing people on caste lines, Advocate Vibodh Gupta said that Gujjars, Bakerwals, & Pahari are together and they are now getting their separate shares, but confusion is deliberately being created by the opposition to further their policy of divide and rule.
“Gujjars & Bakerwals must defeat such nefarious designs of self-centered leaders, and they should come forward and support BJP,” he added.
Meanwhile, State President of BJP’s ST Morcha, Roshan Chowdhary, has said that the recent successful public rally of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Jammu is an eye-opener for the opposition to see how people of the Gujjar & Bakerwal community support BJP.
He said that Gujjars & Bakerwals are ready to support BJP in every seat of J&K and ensure Modiji’s landslide victory in the upcoming elections.
On the occasion, General Secretary of BJP ST Morcha Rayaz Chowdhary thanked Advocate Vibodh Gupta for participating in ST Morcha meetings and assured him that ST Morcha workers will continue its massive outreach program.
“Hum Ghar Ghar Jaingey,” he said, adding that we must approach people and tell them who is good for them.
