An educational visit was organized to IIT, Jammu by the BA Department in collaboration with the Eco-Warrior Club and UBA Unit of Dogra Degree College.
The visit was coordinated by Balwant Singh, UBA coordinator with Jyeoti and provided students with a valuable opportunity to explore one of the city’s premier educational institutions.
A meticulously planned itinerary allowed students to gain insight into the structure and operation of various machinery, particularly in the electrical and mechanical laboratories. The visit included a tour of the tinkering lab, where students interacted with experts Mohd. Isrial and Goutam Gupta, learning about idea processing and its practical applications. The primary objective was to cultivate curiosity, creativity, and imagination among the students.
Live demonstrations and technical introductions further enriched the students’ learning experience. Following this, Dr. Shayantan Mondal, Assistant Professor of Social Science, delivered an expert talk on the relevance of humanities in our daily lives, emphasizing the importance of common sense. Students actively engaged in the discussion, posing insightful questions which were addressed comprehensively.
The visit also included a brief refreshment break before Dr. Nilesh Kumar, Assistant Librarian, conducted a PowerPoint presentation introducing the library and its facilities. Subsequently, students and staff members were given a physical tour of the library.
The successful execution of the visit was made possible through the guidance of Balwant Singh, Palak Gupta, Kanchan Dubey, Shikha Gupta and Aditi Khajuria.
