National level Shooting Range to be established in Village Seer, Suchetgarh: Tony

An upcoming shooting range in the village of Seer, located in Suchetgarh block, is poised to provide training opportunities for youth of border villages. This shooting range, expected to be built at a national standard, aims to clarify its status on the international stage in the days to come.
The proposed site for the shooting range was finalized on Tuesday by Taranjit Singh Tony, a member of the District Development Council (DDC) from Suchetgarh, along with members of the Jammu Kashmir Rifle Association.
Present at the occasion were S.S. Sodhi, President of the Jammu and Kashmir Rifle Association, Vice President Samar Dev Singh, Paramjit Singh, Chairman Kuldeep Singh Jamwal, Arun, as well as several local representatives including former Sarpanch Rashpal Singh Gill, Numberdar Manjit Singh Mehta, and Sukhwinder Singh Bittu.
During the visit, DDC member Taranjit Singh Tony highlighted the demand from the local community to utilize government land in Seer village for the establishment of a shooting range to benefit the youth. He emphasized the importance of initiating this project promptly to cater to the budding talent in the region, pointing out the recent achievement of a local girl who secured a medal in the Asian Games.
Jammu and Kashmir Rifle Association’s S.S. Sodhi expressed confidence that after today’s inspection, discussions with the government would commence soon, paving the way for the commencement of construction at the proposed site.
Furthermore, members from the team accompanying Taranjit Singh Tony, who arrived from Delhi, indicated their commitment to facilitating arrangements for an internationally recognized shooting range. They affirmed that with the cooperation of the District Development Council member, the project would soon see the light of day.
Nambardar Manjit Singh and the former Sarpanch echoed the sentiments, emphasizing that the establishment of a shooting range in the panchayat would not only benefit the local youth but also attract aspiring athletes from neighboring areas. They stressed the significance of sports alongside education, noting the active participation of rural youth in national and international competitions.The collective enthusiasm displayed during the inspection reflects the community’s eagerness to foster sporting excellence and provide promising opportunities for the youth of Seer village and beyond.
