The National Development Foundation, in collaboration with the District Child Protection Unit Rajouri and Government Degree College Darhal, organizes a symposium on child rights at GDC Darhal. Around 12 students from GDC Darhal, Govt. Boys Hr. Sec. SchoolDarhal and Govt. Girls Hr. Sec. School Darhalparticipated in the Symposium. Sh. Mussaraf Hussain Shah, Principal GDC Darhal, was the Chief Guest, while the prominent among others who participated and spoke on the occasion include Khalid Pandey, BDO Darhal, Naveed Qazi, Dy. SP (Police Component) Darhal and Sh. Parvez Ahmad, Principal Boys Hr. Sec. and Principal Girls Hr. Sec. School. Dr. Mohd. Yawar Mir conducted the proceedings while Dr. MohdSaleemWani presented the vote of thanks.
Around 200 students and teachers witnessed the programme. The first prize was bagged by Khushboo Fatima of GHSS Girls Darhal, where Shanq Ahmad and Hiba Tabassum of GDC Darhal stood second and third, respectively. The consolation prizes were bagged by Hashim Malik of GDC Darhal and Armaan Ahmad of GHSS BoysDarhal. The certificates were distributed among all the participants. The Jury of the Symposium included Dr. Asad Imran, HOD Urdu, Mr. Safeer Ahmad, Sr. Lecturer Zoology and Sh. MajiburRehman, Lecturer.
Mr. Rajiv Khajuria, President National Development Foundation, briefed the audience on various aspects of Child Rights and Child Protection with special reference to the Constitution of JJ Act 2015 and UNCRC. The principal of the college Sh. Mussaraf Hussain Shah, in his address, complemented the role of NDF in organizing the Symposium. He said that children are the Right holders, and all citizens must work for the realization of their rights. He stated that apart from academics, other co-curricular activities will continuein GDC Darhal for the overall benefit of the students and the area.
