In the rapidly evolving landscape of digital governance, Jammu and Kashmir emerges as a shining beacon of innovation and efficiency, leading the charge in providing a comprehensive array of e-services to its citizens. The recent National e-Services Delivery Assessment (NeSDA) report, released by the Union Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), Government of India, underscores the region’s remarkable achievement in digital transformation. According to the NeSDA Way Forward Report 2023, Jammu and Kashmir stands tall among all states and Union Territories (UTs), offering a staggering total of 1,117 e-services to its populace. This milestone not only signifies the region’s commitment to embracing technology but also highlights its unwavering dedication to citizen-centric governance. One of the standout achievements highlighted in the report is Jammu and Kashmir’s leading position in Unified Service Delivery Portal Service, with 100% of its services available on the identified single unified service delivery portal— e-UNNAT. This integration not only streamlines service availability but also facilitates entitlement access and bolsters ease of doing business initiatives, setting a benchmark for digital governance nationwide. The report further underscores the efficacy of Jammu and Kashmir’s digital governance initiatives by citing impressive statistics. With over 1,118 e-services offered through the e-UNNAT portal, the region has processed a staggering 55,26,245 applications and facilitated 12,87,533 certified deliveries within the framework of the Public Service Guarantee Act (PSGA). These numbers not only reflect the widespread adoption of digital services but also underscore the tangible benefits accrued by citizens through streamlined processes and efficient service delivery mechanisms. Jammu and Kashmir’s remarkable strides in digital governance serve as a testament to its vision of leveraging technology for inclusive growth and development. As the region continues to chart new frontiers in digital innovation, it sets a compelling example for other states and UTs to emulate, reaffirming its position as a trailblazer in the digital era.
