Master Sansar Chand Baru Trust’s national art workshop concludes successfully

The Master Sansar Chand Baru Memorial Charitable Trust concluded its highly successful week-long National Art Workshop titled ‘Trikuta – The Maharani of Mountains’ on the picturesque banks of the River Chenab in Akhnoor.
Led by Anuradha Rishi, President of the Master Sansar Chand Baru Memorial Charitable Trust, the workshop aimed to nurture artistic talent and foster a deeper appreciation for the arts among students and participants.
The concluding day of the workshop saw esteemed dignitaries gracing the occasion, including Suresh Kumar Gupta, IFS, Principal Secretary of the Cultural Department; Mohd. Rafi, Director of Libraries; Raj Kumar Katoch, Director of Archaeology & Museum; Sanjeev Rana, Additional Secretary of J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages; Sangeeta Sharma, Assistant Director of Srinagar Circle; Brigadier Dr. Vijay Sagar; Akshay Garu, Secretary of Rising Athlete of Jammu and Kashmir; Dr. Romila Malavat, Principal of GDC Akhnoor; and Dr. Krishan Lal Bhagat, Ex MLA and social activist.
The workshop brought together a distinguished panel of ten nationally renowned artists from various corners of the country, including Ashok Kumar, Gopal K Samantray, Gouri Vemula, Jiban Biswas, Nilesh Vede, Rahul J Mhetra, Ranjeeta Kumar, Sanju Das, Suman Dongre, and Vijay Kumar.
Local government school students actively participated in the workshop, showcasing their budding artistic talents.
The senior artists actively engaged with students, imparting invaluable artistic skills and insights. They also conducted demonstrations, inspiring and guiding the young minds towards artistic excellence. Refreshments and gifts were distributed among the participating students, fostering a sense of camaraderie and appreciation for their efforts.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal Secretary Suresh Kumar Gupta lauded the Trust for its commendable efforts in spreading art education to the far-flung regions of Jammu. He emphasized the importance of such workshops in nurturing creativity and cultural understanding among students.
In her vote of thanks, Anuradha Rishi reiterated the Trust’s commitment to promoting art and nurturing artistic talent across Jammu and Kashmir. She highlighted the overwhelming enthusiasm shown by the students and emphasized the urgent need to enhance art education in the region.
The Master Sansar Chand Baru Memorial Charitable Trust has previously organized similar workshops in Patnitop, Chenani, Gulmarg, and other districts of the union territory, reaffirming its dedication to enriching the cultural landscape of Jammu and Kashmir.
While presenting vote of thanks, Anuradha Rishi expressed the profound significance of organizing workshops that aimed to promote art and nurture the artistic abilities of students. She acknowledged that these workshops served as a platform for students to explore and develop their creativity, allowing them to express themselves through various art forms.
She highlighted the genuine interest displayed by the students during the workshop. Their eagerness to learn and embrace the world of art was truly inspiring. She emphasized the importance of providing opportunities for students to enhance their artistic skills, recognizing that art not only fosters self-expression but also nurtures critical thinking, problem-solving, and emotional intelligence.
Anuradha Rishi also mentioned that the Trust had taken proactive steps to organize similar workshops in various locations across Jammu and Kashmir. These workshops were conducted in Patnitop, Chenani, Gulmarg, and other districts of the Union Territory with an aim to empower students with artistic knowledge and skills through their efforts to reach out to different regions and provide equal opportunities for creative growth.
She also extended special thanks to Petronet LNG for their generous support in making the art workshop possible.
