To encourage the young and budding artists to explore their hidden artistic talent, Master Sansar Chand Baru Memorial Charitable Trust has come up with a week-long National Art Workshop ‘Trikuta-The Maharani of Mountains’ on the bank of River Chenab in Akhnoor.
The workshop which commenced today is being organised in collaboration with Petronet LNG.
The renowned artists leading the national arts workshop shall be reflecting different themes and aspects of art making the endeavour a world class experience for the budding artists and the lovers of art. A total of 10 artists in which Ashok Kumar from New Delhi, Gopal K Samantray from Ghaziabad, Gouri Vemula from Hyderabad, Jiban Biswas from Kolkatta, Nilesh Vede from Mumbai, Rahul J Mhetra from Mumbai, Ranjeeta Kumar from Patna, Sanju Das from Delhi, Suman Dongre from Ujjain and Vijay Kumar from Delhi are taking part in the workshop.
Addressing the artists, Anuradha Rishi, Trustee of Master Sansar Chand Baru Memorial Charitable Trust said that the workshop is aimed at giving impetus to the genre of art and to encourage the young artists to explore their hidden talent. She said that the artifacts produced today will inspire the budding artists of Akhnoor and its adjoining areas to try hand and produce more alluring artifacts in the coming time.
Anuradha Rishi said that Jammu region is famous for its art and culture and the time has come to again involve the young generation into this career which is not only satiating but also capable for bringing good fortune as it used bring in the past, when people from far off places used to come to the erstwhile state to appreciate its art and culture. She said that the Baru Trust is dedicated to promote art at various levels and in Jammu region its achievements are numerous because in the last several years many workshops and art camps have been organised under the ambit of this Trust and there are many working artists, who took the path of arts after coming in contact with Baru Trust.
Anuradha asserted that the sole aim of her Trust to spread awareness and provide platform to art and artists.
