DDC Chairperson Ramban reviews progress under District Capex Plan 2023-24

Chairperson, District Development Council Ramban, Dr. Shamshad Shan chaired a meeting to review the developmental scenario of the district here at a joint meeting of DDC members and officers held in the Conference Hall today.
Vice Chairperson, DDC, Rabia Beig, DDC Members, Additional District Development Commissioner, Ramban, Rajinder Sharma and concerned officers were also present in the meeting.
Reviewing the pace of progress on works approved under District Development Plan, Capex Budget 2023-24, the Chairperson got first hand appraisal of physical and financial progress achieved on the projects taken up under different sectors.
During the deliberations, the DDC Members also raised issues of development needs of their respective areas and sought completion of works sanctioned and taken up under Area Development Fund. They also discussed issues such as amplification of healthcare infrastructure, construction of new roads, provision of electricity poles, speedy implementation of JJM schemes and augmentation of power infrastructure, besides strengthening of receiving stations. The Chairperson passed necessary directions to the concerned officers for the early redressal of issues highlighted by the members.
The Chairperson directed the officers to enhance efforts in implementing government schemes on the ground and ensure maximum benefits for the public. Emphasizing coordination between officers and public representatives, she aimed for better results in developmental works and infrastructure creation.
The Chairperson called upon the DDC members to personally monitor the progress of the works taken up in their respective areas. She also called for timely execution of works without compromising the quality of the work. She informed that more than 75 percent works have been taken up and efforts are being made to ensure 100% physical and financial achievements under the 2023-24 Plan.
Addressing the meeting, the ADDC emphasized the importance of a cohesive partnership between administration and elected public representatives. He encouraged DDC members to work side by side with the administration, leveraging their collective expertise and local insights to contribute significantly to the overall development and well-being of the district.
He also directed the officers to expedite the pace of progress and adhere to the set timelines ensuring completion of ongoing projects so that necessary benefits are provided to the general public.
Earlier, CPO Shakeeb Rather presented a PowerPoint Presentation and briefed the latest status of Physical and financial achievements made by the line departments.
