NGOs can play significant role in complementing Govt initiatives, filling gaps in social welfare: Kavinder

Acknowledging the crucial role being played by the NGOs in addressing the societal challenges, senior BJP leader and former deputy chief minister Kavinder Gupta said that these organizations can complement government initiatives and fill the gaps impeding social welfare through honest strides.
The BJP stalwart said this during a visit to NGO Gracious Givers headed by Nidhi Gupta Abrol, which has become the talk of the town after its decision to provide meals to the needy at unbelievable price of Rs 10 per meal, setting an example for the genuine entities working for the welfare of the underprivileged.
It is pertinent to mention that Kavinder Gupta approached the aforesaid NGO under Shakti Bandhan Programme, meant for roping in NGOs and Self Help Groups for public welfare.
The visit was organized by Rekha Mahajan, BJP District President, Jammu.
Kavinder appreciated the role played by NGOs in changing the lives of people confronting poverty and other challenges of life.
He said that NGOs bring agility, innovation, and community-centric approaches to address the pressing issues dexterously. He emphasized on exploring and exploiting the potential for synergy between political leadership and grassroots organizations in creating effective and sustainable solutions for the welfare of the community. “As the importance of NGOs gains prominence in public discourse, such interactions serve as a platform for fostering partnerships that can lead to more comprehensive and responsive social welfare initiatives”, he maintained.
Ayodhya Gupta, District General Secretary, Akash Chopra, Pushpinder Charak District President of Mahila Morcha, Divya Jain, Rajni, Sarojini, Pammi Choudhary, Sunny Sangotra, Bharti Gupta, Bharti Salgotra, Leela Chhetri and other party workers were also present.
Later, Kavinder Gupta also visited Chhani Rama handicrafts center.
After going through the centre, the seniorBJP functionary lauded the efforts of the stakeholders in maintaining the quality of products and proficient working in the centre. He said that J&K has high stakes in handicrafts and therefore more efforts should be made to attain perfection and marketing the products to a wider range as the same will help in bringing vibrancy in the business.
