Narinder demands Govt Rs 30 lacs per POJK family without further delay

Senior PDP leader and social worker Narendra Sharma has welcomed the statement of Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha in which he has said that the displaced families of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir will soon be given the ownership rights of their lands. Along with this, he has demanded that the government should issue a notification as soon as possible to give the outstanding amount to these families.
During a press conference held at RS Pura, social worker and senior PDP leader Narendra Sharma said that on the occasion of Republic Day, it was announced by the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir that the displaced people of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir living in Jammu and Kashmir will be given shelter.
Soon they will be given the ownership rights of their lands, which all the displaced families welcome and demand that this process should be completed as soon as possible so that their pending demand for the last 75 years can be fulfilled! Along with this, he demanded that the government has given Rs 5.50 lakh as compensation to these families whereas these families demand that at least Rs 30 lakh should be given to each family. He said that the Central Government should announce this before the Lok Sabha elections and at least two assembly seats in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly should be reserved for the displaced people of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir.
Narinder demanded that rehabilitation package passed by the J&K government in 2014 and later endorsed by the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Home Affairs should be implemented completely without any further delay.
The J&K government in 2014 had sent a proposal of rehabilitation package for one-time full and final settlement of the claims of 36,384 families of PoJK and Chhamb. The state government had proposed a payment of Rs 25 lakh to each family as a one-time compensation, amounting to a total of Rs 9,096 crore, added Narinder.
