PM Vishwakarma Scheme launched at ITI Samba

The prestigious PM Vishwakarma Yojna (PMVY) was today inaugurated by District Development Commissioner Samba, Abhishek Sharma with the start of Skill Training for first batch of 37 trainees (Vishwakarmas) in Darzi (Tailor) trade here at Government ITI.
Addressing the trainees, the Deputy Commissioner said that the scheme will be highly beneficial as it will honour and empower the artisans who immensely contribute towards the economy.
“With the implementation of this scheme the beneficiaries who are currently working as entrepreneurs in the unorganized sector will be able to scale up their operations, modernize /upgrade their tools and business and enter the formal economy as stronger entrepreneurs,” he added.
The Deputy Commissioner further stressed that the vision of the Prime Minister for “HUNAR SE HOGA DESH KA NAVNIRMAAN” will be turned into reality by this scheme. He encouraged the trainees to implement innovative ideas to earn their livelihood and boost the economy. He exhorted the trainees to utilize the facilities available at the ITI to the maximum during their skill training.
General Manager DIC, Virinder Manyal highlighted that the scheme aims to recognize the artisans and crafts of people through PM Vishwakarma Certificate and ID card as well as Basic Skill Training of 5-7 days and advance Training of 15 days, with the Stipend of Rs. 500 per day.
“Credit support of Rs 3 lakh in two trenches is admissible to the registered Vishwakarmas on concessional interest rate of 5%. Incentive for Digital Transaction and Marketing Support is also provided” he informed.
Superintendent ITI Samba, Amanpreet Singh said that the training and financial aid provided to the workers will help bridge the gap between conventional arts and modern tools.
He stressed that features of this scheme will help Indian craftsmen shine better than ever. Beneficiaries of 1st batch expressed gratitude for the opportunity given to them through PMVY Scheme and pledged to dedicate themselves to acquiring skills that would not only benefit their individual careers but also contribute to the overall development of the country.
