Deputy Commissioner Rajouri conducts comprehensive visit to GMC &AH

Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Om Prakash Bhagat today conducted a thorough inspection of the Government Medical College and Associated Hospital (GMC & AH to assess the healthcare facilities and patient care services available in the premier Health Institution.
Accompanied by a team of officers, the Deputy Commissioner assessed different departments and interacted with medical staff, directing them to deliver the best possible services and exhibit empathetic behavior towards patients. During his visit, the Deputy Commissioner paid a visit to the Oxygen generation plant and directed the concerned officer from the Public Works Department (PWD) to expedite the pending work. Recognizing the urgency, he issued necessary directives and set a deadline for completion of the drainage work by the first week of February.
In his quest to enhance the medical facilities, the DC also inspected the blood components separation unit. Recognizing the significance of voluntary blood donation, he directed the concerned authorities to promote and encourage individuals to donate blood voluntarily, ensuring a steady supply of blood for patients in need.
The Deputy Commissioner further toured multiple departments within the hospital, including the Emergency Ward, Pathology Laboratory, Resuscitation Unit, Isolation Ward, NICU & PICU, Ayush OPD Unit, Orthopaedics Ward, ECG Section, Dermatology Unit, Surgical OPD, Physiotherapy Unit, Medical OPD, Drug Deaddiction OPD, Gynae Ward, Paediatric OPD, ENT OPD, Speech and Hearing Centre, Dental OPD, Radiation Oncology Ward, ICU, NCD Clinic and Thalassemia Care Centre.
With a focus on patient-centric care, the Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned authorities to ensure the display of available medicines in the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) store. This initiative aims to provide transparency to patients and their families and facilitate better decision-making regarding medication.
While interacting with the medical staff, the DC stressed the importance of providing the best possible services to patients. He emphasized the need for empathetic behavior, directing healthcare professionals to exhibit compassion and understanding towards patients during their treatment journeys.
Furthermore, the Deputy Commissioner took the opportunity to interact with MBBS students during his visit. Recognizing their vital role in the healthcare system, he advised them to wholeheartedly embrace their training and education for the betterment of patients. His words of encouragement aimed to inspire and motivate the future healthcare professionals to excel in their chosen fields and deliver exceptional care to those in need. Overall the visit of the Deputy Commissioner to GMC&AH showcased unwavering dedication of the District Administration to improving patient care services. His hands-on approach, coupled with the issuance of necessary directives and deadlines, reflects the commitment of the District Administration to ensuring the prompt completion of pending work and the implementation of essential improvements.
