A special camp was organized by Traders Federation Warehouse Nehru Market, Jammu, on Friday, and labor cards were distributed among the laborers working in the market. On this occasion, former Deputy Mayor of Jammu, Baldev Baloria, was the chief guest, and he, along with Federation President Deepak Gupta, distributed these cards among the workers.
During the camp, labor cards were distributed among about 150 laborers. Baldev Baloria remarked on this occasion that the Modi government has initiated many welfare schemes for people working in the unorganized sector, and the Labor Card is one such important scheme. Baloria highlighted that besides providing social security to the beneficiaries, the government also extends financial assistance to them.
He mentioned that in the unfortunate event of a Labor cardholder’s death or disability due to an accident, the family receives financial aid and a pension from the government. Baloria emphasized the various benefits of the scheme and encouraged every eligible person to obtain their Labor card.
Federation President Deepak Gupta, acknowledging the pivotal role played by the workers during the Corona pandemic, stated that the laborers at Warehouse-Nehru Market risked their lives to ensure uninterrupted ration supply in the state. The cooperation of the workers was instrumental in maintaining a smooth ration supply even during those challenging times. As a responsible organization, the Federation took the initiative to get Labor cards made for the laborers working in its market. Gupta expressed gratitude to Baldev Baloria for his assistance in overcoming initial challenges in the card-making process.
He also urged laborers or employees whose Labor cards have not been issued yet to contact the Federation for support.
The event saw the presence of senior vice-president of the federation Munish Mahajan, general secretary Sham Langar, former president Rattan Lal Gupta, Rajesh Bhagotra, Raj Kumar Gupta, Kirti Gupta, Ashok Kumar, and other senior members.
The distribution of Labor cards underscores the commitment of the Federation to the welfare of laborers and their recognition for their essential role, especially during challenging times like the pandemic.
