DOGRA HERALD BUREAU
jammu:BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh has strongly rebuked Congress leaders, particularly Rahul Gandhi, for labeling the Ayodhya consecration ceremony as a political event. Chugh asserted that such characterization reflects the anti-Ram stance of Congress leaders and showcases the party’s inclination towards divisive politics, contradicting the cultural ethos of India.
Chugh underscored the significant national importance of the consecration function, representing a matter of faith for people across all castes and communities. He emphasized that Lord Ram is a symbol of national pride. However, Chugh expressed disappointment that it is the Congress party injecting politics into the ceremony by choosing to abstain from it.
Amidst the entire country resonating with chants of Shree Ram, Chugh criticized the Congress for striking a disruptive note that goes against popular sentiment. He pointed out that invitations to the Ayodhya function have been extended to everyone, irrespective of their political affiliations. Nevertheless, Chugh observed that the Congress cannot resist politicizing the event. He urged the Congress to heed the perspectives of prominent figures like senior Congress leader Karan Singh on this matter.
Chugh concluded by urging the Congress to show respect for the popular faith of the nation’s people, particularly during a time when the nation is united in celebrating Shree Ram. He emphasized the need for the Congress to refrain from injecting unnecessary politics into events of national and cultural significance, fostering a spirit of unity and shared heritage.
