Rajesh Gupta President VHP, J&K, along with former Councillor Rahul Kumar spearheaded the distribution of consecrated Akshat (sacred rice) and images of Lord Rama in Balmiki Basti of Gandhi Nagar here as part of the ongoing Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Akshat Distribution Campaign in connection with consecration ceremony of Shri Ram at Ayodhaya.
The initiative involved reaching out to households to distribute these sacred items that have been brought from Ayodhya in anticipation of the program scheduled for January 22.
Communities from all strata of society actively participated in this campaign, expressing their devotion to Lord Rama by collectively engaging in the distribution process.
Prominent among those who were present include Ramesh Khokhar, Raju Mattu, Jang Bahadur Mattu, Raju Athawal, Ram Singh, John Sabharwal, Sonu Khokhar, Vikas, Karam Hans, Satbir Singh, Ranjan Ji (City Coordinator), Vijay Verma, Gopal Das (Campaign Head for Basti), and Bharat Bhushan, actively took part in the campaign. The event saw enthusiastic participation from residents and committee members alike, symbolizing a collective expression of faith and unity towards Lord Rama. Former Councillor Rahul Kumar, in his role as a community leader, lauded the community’s active involvement in the campaign, highlighting the significance of fostering spiritual connections within the community. He appealed to the people of Gandhi Nagar to celebrate this momentous occasion as a festival by lighting their homes and establishments.
