Emphasises collaborative approach to achieve set targets

Secretary, Youth Services & Sports, Sarmad Hafeez, today chaired a meeting to review progress on registrations under Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat).
An initiative of Government of India, this digital platform, launched by the Prime Minister during the culminating event of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav on National Unity Day, aims to engage young individuals in volunteering programs and offer experiential learning opportunities across various sectors.
Director, Nehru Yuva Kendra, Special Secretaries, Programme Officer, National Service Scheme, Joint Directors, Youth Services and Sports among others attended the meeting.
Secretary took a detailed feedback on the program from the field department and connected agencies. He exhorted upon them to conduct extensive campaigning in the Union Territory for ensuring that youth are associated with the ambitious program of the government. He emphasized the capacity building of field functionaries for ensuring maximum coverage of the eligible youth. Sarmad Hafeez instructed for organizing training programs in both the divisions of union territory, involving Physical Education Teachers, Physical Education Lecturers, Zonal Education Officers and District Sports Officers along with Resource Persons from the Nehru Yuva Kendra about MY Bharat. This shall facilitate smooth roll out of registrations at the grass root level, he added.
It was informed in the meeting that NSS, NYK and NCC have registered 21,058, 146,462 and 2369 youth on the portal respectively. Besides, other field departments have also registered 12,100 youth making up the total registrations of 181,989 youths.
The meeting highlighted challenges faced by the field functionaries during registrations and it was decided that all the agencies shall collaborate with each other in ensuring the success of the program.
It was further suggested to effectively communicate the advantages of registration through vigorous campaign at school level to ensure enrolment of eligible candidates.
