Kavinder Gupta, senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, has strongly condemned the remarks made by Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Jitendra Awhad concerning Lord Shri Ram.
In a statement issued here today, Kavinder expressed deep concern over Awhad’s comments, stating, “Their mindset is to hurt the sentiments of the Ram bhakts. They can’t make fun of the Hindu religion to gather votes.”
He went on to emphasize that Awhad’s remarks have not only offended the sentiments of millions of Rambhakts but also demonstrated a disregard for the sacred nature of Lord Rama in the hearts of the people. He asserted, “People speaking ill of Lord Rama must be acted against. The country will not tolerate such remarks on Lord Rama.”
Kavinder said, “In the midst of the nationwide celebrations surrounding the consecration ceremony of Lord Ram in Ayodhya, it is disheartening to witness the remarks made by NCP leader. At a time when the entire country is uniting to commemorate a momentous cultural and religious event, Awhad’s comments not only reveal a divisive mindset but also indicate a level of frustration that stands in stark contrast to the prevailing sentiments of unity and reverence.”
Calling for immediate action, the senior BJP leader urged the authorities to ensure stern measures against Awhad, emphasizing the need for accountability when it comes to remarks that could potentially hurt religious sentiments.
“The government must take strict action against people who speak foul of Lord Ram. We cannot allow such comments to go unchecked, and there must be consequences for those who disrespect the revered figures of our faith,” he asserted.
Kavinder expressed hope that the authorities would swiftly address the matter to uphold the principles of respect and harmony among diverse communities.
