Part of Ekta Abhiyan, an intellectual interaction was held at border village Jarhavtal in Ramgarh sector today under the chairmanship of former MLA Mr. Ashok Sharma with mission to unite the people of Jammu region.
While addressing the meeting of galaxy of intellectuals, Mr. Ashok Sharma expressed serious concern over the non-release of the total sanctioned amount of Rs 30 lac to each family of displaced persons, instead given only Rs 5 lac. The displaced persons particularly living on the border have contributed their bit to fight the enemy by supporting army and security forces since independence. They deserve much more but the sanctioned remaining amount of 25 lac along with 5 Marlas plot at safer places are of imperative necessity.
There is unrest among the youth because of unemployment and the inaction of government to fill about 1.5 vacancies in Govt. and Public sector is adding into fuel resulting into their involvement in drug abuse said Mr. Sharma while urging the government to have fast track recruitment against such vacancies ensuring confidence of the youth in public life.
Mr. Satish Sawhney Poonchi and S. Kamalpreet Singh, Vice Chairmen, JBM while giving details of the problems like toll plaza, smart metres, property tax, water tax, etc. urged upon the people of Jammu Region to unite on single non-political platform to fight for the resolution of their common problems and restoration of Statehood with land and job guarantee. The interaction resolved to constitute a local village and panchayat committees of the organisation and had chosen a delegation to participate in the Ekta Sammelan being held at Press club Jammu at 11 AM, tomorrow on 04-01-2024.
The meeting was organised by Sh. R S Bhatti, Executive member JPBM and his team, whereas it was moderated by Davinder Singh.
