Apni Party Provincial President, Jammu, and Former Minister, S. Manjit Singh today conducted an extensive tour of Vijaypur Assembly Constituency and met the people in different areas.
The tour was conducted in various villages and wards of Vijaypur in the wake of growing concern of the people regarding poor development, increase in unemployment etc.
During his visit to various areas, Manjit Singh interacted with the respective people and held detailed deliberations with them in reference to their issues.
“The people have concern over poor basic amenities in the wards as well as the villages. The authorities have not been able to work as per the wishes of the people, and the underdevelopment remains one of main concerns,” Manjit Singh said.
He said that the roads and lanes are in bad condition and they need repair / widening work that is not being done even after repeated appeals in various areas.
“The road connectivity, irregular drinking water and unscheduled power electricity cuts, and excessive electricity bills are among the concerns shown by the people,” he said in a statement issued following the conclusion of the tour.
He said that the authorities have developed a mistrust and disconnection with the local population, and the people feel deprived of their constitutional right.
“The Govt officials prepare plans and policies without considering the ground situation. Most of the time, the planned developmental issues often go against the interest of the local population.
The gap between the people and authorities has widened and this situation has left the people helpless in almost all the areas in Vijaypur,” he added.
He further stated that “All the public issues can be addressed by an elected Govt because the officials are not answerable to the masses.
The administration has failed to implement developmental schemes because they have no connection with the people, and they often work in a wayward manner that does not help the local population.”
On this occasion, Manjit Singh was accompanied by the prominent people, PRIs, ward members and Apni Party leaders.
