Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) organized PM Vishwakarma Yojana Awareness and registration camp in ward 12, 13 Bhagwati Nagar, and Resham Ghar Colony Jammu.
J&K BJP General Secretary Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal accompanied by BJP District Jammu President Parmod Kapahi, Media Incharge Dr. Pardeep Mahotra and OBC Morcha President Sunil Prajapati inaugurated the camp organized at Bhagwati Nagar.
Vice President BJP OBC Morcha Suresh Salgotra, District President Morcha Ashok Salgotra, Ward President Sonu Manhas, Mandal President Morcha Onkar Verma, Bunti, Jagdish Verma and others were also present in the camps.
Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal highlighted the dedication of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his initiatives to bolster the rural as well as urban micro-economies. He said that the Modi government has initiated the policies and the schemes to uplift the socio-economic status of the communities and the segments that were consistently neglected by the earlier governments. He said that ‘PM Vishwakarma Yojana’ aims to revitalize India’s rich heritage of traditional crafts by empowering artisans across the nation.
Parmod Kapahi urged the party workers to remain proactive at the grass roots level and highlight the essential features of the PM Vishwakarma Scheme in their respective areas so that maximum number of people will take benefit of this marvellous scheme. He asked the party workers to raise awareness through outreach activities to achieve saturation of the PM Vishwakarma scheme across the Union Territory.
Dr. Pardeep Mahotra said that the scheme is designed to uplift traditional artisans and craftspeople engaged in various occupations like blacksmithing, goldsmithing, pottery, carpentry, and sculpting, with a focus on preserving cultural heritage and integrating them into the formal economy and global value chains. There is a need to recognize and support these artisans and integrate them into the global supply chain, added Dr. Pardeep.
Sunil Prajapati said that the PM Vishwakarma Scheme has been designed to strengthen local economies, bridging the gap between age-old artistry and modern market demands. By providing artisans with enhanced access to resources, training, and market exposure, the scheme promises to breathe new life into the diverse tapestry of Indian craftsmanship, ensuring sustainable livelihoods and preserving cultural legacies for future generations, he added. Suresh Salgotra facilitated the smooth conduct of both the camps.
