GDC Marh commemorates ‘Dogri Manata Divas’

Department of Dogri, Government Degree College Marh today organized a Poster Making Competition on the topic “Historical & Religious Places of Jammu” with the aim of popularizing Dogri Language among young students.
The contest was organized in connection with the celebration of ‘Dogri Manata Divas’ a day to commemorate inclusion of Dogri language in the 8th Schedule of Indian Constitution and the new heights achieved by the language after 20 years. The College Principal, Dr. Rakesh Kumar Koul inspired the hosting of the event.
A good number of students from Sem1st, 3rd and 5th participated in the contest. The participants were Simran Devi, Pallvi Devi, Sweety Kaith, Babita Devi, Monika Devi, Vanshika Bhagat, Sohani Choudhary and Sanjana Bhagat. The event was judged by Prof. Anita Kumari, HOD English and Dr. Ashu Jolly, HOD Education and Prof. Sachin Kumar Bhagat HOD Pol. Science.
Sweety Kaith Secured 1st position, Suhani Choudhary secured 2nd position, Sanjana Bhagat secured 3rd position, Simran Devi secured 4th position, Pallvi Devi secured 5th position, Babita Devi secured 6th position, Vanshika Bhagat secured 7th position and Monika Devi secured 8th position respectively. The students with high scores in the competition were awarded certificates.
Prof. Dr. Rakesh Kumar Koul, Principal of the college interacted with the students & appreciated the efforts of the department and encouraged them to organize more events in the future also.
The whole event was organized by Dr. Sheetal Sharma, HOD Dogri.
