IQAC and NSS Unit of Dogra Law College commemorated the “Human Rights Day”. The event started with the welcome address by Professor Avdhesh Pratap, Principal, Dogra Law College. In his welcome address he spoke about the historical significance of this day and how celebration of this day should be a collective event.
This was followed by the lighting of the lamp by all the dignitaries and evoking the blessings of almighty, continued with the presenting of saplings to the dignitaries. The event proceeded further with the paper presentations and skit on the topic “Championing Human Dignity: A Call for Universal Respect & Justice on Human Rights Day” by students of B.A.LL.B 5 year course highlighting the importance of this day.
The event was further enriched by a soulful Shayari performance, adding a touch of artistic expression to the celebration. The purpose of the day was to reflect the progress made in promotion of human rights. The event was graced by Dr. Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary, Dogra Educational Trust. In his address, he emphasized the pivotal role educational institutions play in shaping individuals who are not only well-versed in legal matters but are also socially conscious and committed to upholding human rights. The celebration served as a reminder that education is a powerful tool for instilling values and principles that contribute to the betterment of society.
The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks presented by Dhanyata, student of BA.LL.B 5 YEARS 9th semester and followed by playing of the National Anthem.
