Former Chief Minister and DPAP Chairman, Ghulam Nabi Azad, commended the Abraham Lincoln Society of International DPS Jammu on Thursday for their commendable work in women empowerment and providing free education to underprivileged girls. Azad praised the society for its impactful social service, emphasizing that it not only empowers women in the community but also contributes to the overall empowerment of society. Recognizing the pivotal role women play in shaping society, Azad expressed his satisfaction with the society’s efforts.
“I am pleased to know that your society, Abraham Lincoln, is serving a crucial role in our society. Educating a woman means educating a family and empowering the society in general because she is an inevitable and dominant force among us,” Azad remarked during the launch of the society’s magazine titled “Pride of JK.”
The magazine features profiles of 50 personalities from Jammu across various fields who have made significant contributions to society.
Azad, while launching the magazine, emphasized the duty of every citizen to promote, remember, and educate future generations about individuals who have made notable contributions and sacrifices for society.
He applauded the comprehensive approach of the magazine, which profiles heroes from diverse fields, acknowledging their services. Azad extended congratulations for this significant endeavor.
Other dignitaries present at the occasion included former minister and General Secretary RS Chib, Provincial President Jugal Kishore, Sohail Kazmi (senior journalist and member of the waqf board), Salman Nizami (Chief Spokesperson), and Swaran Chowdary (Managing Director, IDPS Jammu).
