SC upholds Abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A: Justice Delivered to J&K: Vibodh

BJP J&K General Secretary and former MLC Vibodh Gupta, on Monday, expressed that justice has been delivered to the people of Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh. He stated that the Supreme Court has upheld the abrogation of Article 370 and Article 35A in Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh as constitutionally valid. Addressing a public gathering in Nagoon Block, Doongi, Vibodh asserted that the nullification of Articles 370 and 35A, five years ago, has transformed Jammu and Kashmir, bringing about substantial and far-reaching changes in the lives of its people.
Vibodh mentioned that the government’s focus on infrastructure development is evident through numerous projects launched in the region, including the construction of highways, tunnels, and the expansion of railways. According to him, this has not only improved connectivity but has also resulted in a record surge in tourism in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, making it a preferred destination for tourists. He strongly asserted that since 2019, there have been no shutdowns in the Kashmir Valley, and with the situation getting better, the Union Territory has hosted national and international events, contributing to making J&K the tourism capital of the world. Vibodh highlighted the benefits that the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A bestowed upon different sections of society, including STs, women, OBCs, PoJK displaced people, Valmiki Samaj, Gorkha Samaj, West Pakistan Refugees, etc., in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. He stated that the Modi government has renewed hope for peace and prosperity among the people of J&K. Maintaining that the STs of J&K are prominent beneficiaries of the abrogation of Article 370 and 35A, Vibodh said that they have been empowered by the Modi government through political reservation. He mentioned that since August 5, 2019, more than one lakh people who migrated from West Pakistan to Jammu in 1947 are being granted full citizenship and domicile rights, including ownership rights for property, the right to vote, and eligibility for government jobs.
Vibodh also emphasized that the abrogation of Article 370 and 35A has brought a Pandora of opportunities for the youth of Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh in the fields of startups, industries, tourism, sports, agriculture, and its allied sectors. He mentioned that currently, some of the country’s leading startups are based in J&K.
, while thousands of jobs have opened up in the private sector. The youth of the Union Territory have become job creators rather than job seekers, witnessing a magical revolution post the abrogation of Article 370 and 35A.
