In a pattern being observed across different blocks of the district, Akhnoor also welcomed the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra carrying the message of development and hopes of positive transformation.
Welcomed at a vibrant celebration in Community Hall at Panchayat Gurha Brahmana East and Durga Resort Bindra Bhag in Gurha Brahmana West, the yatra, held under the guidance of Block Development Officer, Rupinder Kour, the event saw active participation from diverse departments, showcasing their commitment to on-the-spot services for villagers.
Tehsildar Akhnoor- Surinder Singh graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, joined by Block Development Officer Akhnoor, Rupinder Kour and sarpanches of gram panchayats as the Guests of Honour.
The VBSY program exemplified collaborative efforts across Health, Social Welfare, NRHM, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Industrial & Commerce, ICDS, Revenue, RDD and more.
A cultural program featured impressive performances by children from local schools.
Tehsildar Akhnoor acknowledged their performances by felicitating them with medals and certificates.
Beyond Akhnoor, the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra has become a hub of awareness, with different departments disseminating valuable information to the public.
The Yatra, with participation exceeding 10,000 individuals across events, unfolded in 40 gram panchayats, hosting 16 health camps and 33 cultural events under ‘Dharti Kahe Pukar Ke.’
In addition to delivering on-the-spot government services, the Yatra celebrated the achievements of women, sports enthusiasts and academic achievers, weaving a rich tapestry of progress across Jammu district.
