The two-day workshop on “Use of Modern Technology and Rajbhasha Hindi,” organized by the Rajbhasha Cell at the Central University of Kashmir (CUK), concluded at the Green Campus on Tuesday, leaving participants equipped with insights into leveraging technology for Hindi language usage in administrative tasks. Addressing the workshop’s participants, Registrar Prof. M Afzal Zargar urged the administrative staff to implement Rajbhasha Hindi in their official work and correspondence wholeheartedly. Emphasizing the significance of such workshops, Prof. Zargar noted that they provide a valuable platform for employees to acquire knowledge from experts about available software and tools for translating office work into Hindi. He announced the university’s commitment to organizing more such workshops in the future to keep employees informed about technological advancements, which play a crucial role in promoting Rajbhasha Hindi.
In line with this commitment, Prof. Zargar highlighted CUK’s dedication to fostering linguistic diversity and promoting the use of Rajbhasha Hindi across all aspects of its operations.
During the event, Director of Indian Languages and Accessibility at Microsoft, Mr. Balendu Sharma, expressed gratitude to the university administration, particularly Vice-Chancellor Prof. A Ravinder Nath, for facilitating the workshop. Mr. Sharma underscored the pivotal role that modern technology plays in promoting Rajbhasha Hindi and encouraged university employees to leverage available software for completing official work in Hindi. Controller of Examinations, Dr. Tanveer Ahmad Shah, delivered a speech urging employees to stay updated with modern technological advancements for success in their professional and personal lives. Dr. Shah emphasized that those hesitant to adopt modern technological interventions are likely to face challenges. Furthermore, he stressed the importance of aligning with the government’s official language policy to promote Rajbhasha Hindi.
The valediction program was conducted by Hindi Adhikari, Dr. Sakina Akhtar, and concluded with a vote of thanks by Assistant Librarian, Ms. Humma Ahanger. The workshop not only provided practical insights into utilizing modern technology for Hindi language applications but also underscored the university’s commitment to linguistic diversity and the promotion of Rajbhasha Hindi in its administrative operations. Participants left the workshop with enhanced skills and knowledge, ready to contribute to the university’s dedication to fostering the use of Hindi in official communication and operations.
