The Jammu and Kashmir Education Department, engaged in implementing the new education policy, has started efforts to end the summer and winter zones in the state. Jammu and Kashmir is a state where schools are divided into summer and winter zones according to the season. The plain areas of Jammu come in the summer zone, and the Kashmir division comes in the winter zone, apart from the high mountain areas of the Jammu division. Annual examinations are held in the summer zone in March-April, while in the winter zone, the examinations are held from October to November.

Now the Jammu and Kashmir Education Department will prepare a uniform academic calendar in the entire state, under which the education session will start simultaneously in the entire state, and simultaneously examinations will be conducted in both the divisions of Jammu and Kashmir. For this, the Jammu and Kashmir Education Board has to The main role will have to be played because earlier, the board used to conduct the examinations in both the divisions separately, but now it will have to conduct the examinations together and declare their results together.

At the same time, to make a common academic calendar in both the divisions, the Education Department has also constituted a committee whose chairman has been made the chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Education Board. Along with the chairman of the board, six members have also been made part of the committee, including the director of the State Council of Educational Research and Training, the director of the Directorate of Education Jammu and Kashmir, the academic director of the Jammu and Kashmir Education Board, the chief education officer, Kupwara and the chief education officer. Officer Kishtwar is also involved.

The newly constituted committee will submit its report after deliberation within eight days, based on which a framework for issuing a uniform academic calendar will be prepared in the entire state. BK Singh, Commissioner Secretary, Education Department, said that this decision was taken in a meeting held on April 7 with the Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir. The committee can submit its report to the Chief Secretary by May 10.
