On the day of Holi, the festival of colours, Jammu Police will deal strictly with those who create a stir in the markets. On the day of Holi, i.e., district police and traffic police were deployed from Friday morning itself. In addition, blocks will be put up on the roads leading from the city’s busy squares to major colonies so that the rioters can be cracked down.

On Holi, the traffic police will also deduct challans of drivers who are drunk or driving vehicles in violation of traffic rules. Police will make additional deployment of police personnel in other squares, including Bikram Chowk, Railway Station, Satwari Chowk, Kachhi Chhawni, Gandhi Nagar Last Mod, Bahu Plaza, Janipur, Bantalab, Muthi, Canal Road.

If more than two young riders are found on the right wheeler, they will be stopped and challaned, making them aware that they should follow the traffic rules. Police will deal strictly with drivers making noise while driving or harassing others. To stop the rioting, the police has given instructions at the police station to conduct a special operation for the whole day.

SSP Jammu Chandan Kohli says that on the day of Holi, it is often seen that youths drive vehicles while drunk or even fussy. Due to this, he puts his own life and the lives of others in danger. In this case, the role of the police is more important than that of the parents. While giving vehicles to the youth, make sure that he is being told with whom and with whom. Make children aware that they follow the traffic rules.
