Two teachers suspended for unauthorized absence

Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mussarat Islam suspended two teachers, found absent on the very first day of re-opening of schools, besides withheld the salary of ZEO Ramban for misusing his power. Nissar Ahmed Teacher GPS Seri and Pritam Singh Teacher UPS Koradera, attached in GPS Seri were attached at their substantive place of posting during their period of suspension.

The DC also ordered withholding of salary of Zonal Education Officer Ramban for misusing his official powers. “After examining the report submitted by the Chief Education Officer, Ramban on news telecasted on a news channel, it is amply clear the Zonal Education Officer, Ramban, Mr Hafeezullah has misused his official powers and tried to shield the erring teachers by way of attaching them on his own, without seeking proper approval from the competent authority” an order issued by the DC Ramban reads.

It was mentioned in the order that teacher Nayeem Ahmed was attached to the City Middle School Ramban by the ZEO and Teacher Nissar Ahmed was absent from duty without taking prior permission from competent authority. Besides, ZEO Ramban has also attached Pritam Singh in the said school as per report of CEO Ramban by violating the rules’.

The DC also constituted an enquiry committee headed by the Additional Deputy Commissioner and Principal, Government Higher Secondary School, Ramban and Headmaster GHS Ramban as members with direction to submit the report by or before March 10, 2022.

The DC also withheld the salary of ZEO, Ramban till further order.
